I’ve been asked time and time again about the name Media Affect. In it’s simplistic definition it’s the theories about the way mass media affects how audiences think and behave. If you look over the past 10 years and how new media has changed our way of life you’ll see it clearly. How did you used to get information and how do you get it now? How quickly did you find that information and was it even there yesterday? What if sites like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter didn’t exist? Sites like CNN.com and NewYorkTimes.com are forcing traditional newspapers to shut down. That’s the media affect.
